MISSION STATEMENT
We, the members of the Wild Acres Public Safety Department are proud to serve our community. Our department will be on the forefront of the Law Enforcement profession, by employing the most effective methods in providing quality policing services.
Our duties are to safeguard freedom by preserving life and property, protecting the constitutional rights of individuals, maintaining order and encouraging respect for the rule of law by the proper enforcement thereof.
To reduce the opportunity for the commission of crime by implementing effective crime prevention strategies, fully investigating crimes when they occur and expeditiously apprehending criminal offenders.
To identify, address and resolve the root causes of community problems and concerns in concert with citizen groups and representatives through the use of community oriented policing strategies.
In trying to accomplish these goals, service will be our commitment; honor and integrity our mandate. The Wild Acres Public Safety Department, which exists to protect and serve the community, must always be guided by the principle that every individual has dignity and worth; encouraging their individual needs, aspirations and capabilities.
The mission and goals of our department shall be carried out in alignment with the following values:
1) Service Orientation: Providing supportive, professional service to the community and to employees by promoting human rights, mutual respect and courtesy.
2) Partnership: Work in partnership with the community, the Board members and other departments, service agencies and criminal justice systems.
3) Empowerment: Encourage decision making at the most effective level and promote citizen responsibilty and involvement.
4) Problem Solving: Use problem-solving methods to reduce the incidence and fear of crime and to improve management and operational approaches.
5) Accountability: Promote responsibilty among police management, employees, the community, the Board members and other agencies, for public safety resources, strategies and outcomes.
